Data Analyst | Financial Data • Operational Analysis • Business Intelligence

About

Data analyst with 18+ years of operational experience in construction project management — budgets, cost tracking, procurement, and financial reporting — combined with SQL and Python skills across financial services, R&D, and biomedical research. I build reproducible analysis workflows, create dashboards for stakeholder reporting, and apply statistical rigor to ensure findings are trustworthy — including honest reporting when the data doesn't support a hypothesis.

Currently seeking remote Data Analyst opportunities, particularly in financial services, construction technology, insurance, or any organization that values analytical skills and cross-domain experience. Open to full-time, contract, and consulting engagements.

Data Analysis & Software Projects

Financial Data Analysis Pipeline

Built reproducible data processing pipeline for structured financial data supporting strategy evaluation and risk assessment.

Technical Achievement: Processed 7,876 records/second with sub-100ms latency. Achieved 60% memory reduction through optimized data representation. Implemented full data lifecycle including experiment tracking, versioning, and automated reporting infrastructure.

Python Data Pipelines Performance Optimization Automated Reporting

Market Data Statistical Research

Rigorous statistical analysis of forex market data to evaluate whether apparent patterns represent genuine trends or random noise.

Methodology: Applied bootstrap and permutation testing across 224,000 records and 24 currency instruments. Created summary dashboards showing confidence intervals and significance metrics. Implemented time-aware analysis windows to prevent data leakage.

Research Value: Demonstrated importance of honest performance reporting in financial data analysis and limitations of pattern detection in efficient markets.

Hebrew Bible Analysis Suite

Comprehensive browser-based platform for computational analysis of the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh), featuring 11 interactive research tools — including the first open-source JavaScript replication of the landmark 1994 Witztum-Rips-Rosenberg equidistant letter sequence experiment.

Data Pipeline: Processed 304,805 consonantal Hebrew letters with character-level metadata across 39 Tanakh books. Built compression pipeline (630MB raw → 21MB served) using gzip via DecompressionStream API. Pre-computed 1.74M ELS hits for Hebrew calendar date heatmap.

Technical Architecture: Web Workers for off-thread computation (ELS scan + WRR permutation testing), KMP + Boyer-Moore pattern matching with Hebrew final-form (sofit) letter normalization, custom GIF89a encoder with LZW compression, Three.js 3D WebGL visualization with auto-rotate and video capture. Zero npm packages, zero build steps. PWA — works offline after first visit.

Statistical Rigor: WRR replication achieved P = 0.0012 (1 in 840) vs. original P < 0.00002. No independent researcher has reproduced WRR's original P-value in 30+ years — the MBBK critique (Statistical Science, 1999), the Hebrew University Aumann Committee replications, and this implementation all point to the same conclusion. The ~75x gap is fully documented with transparent methodology.

AI-Assisted Development: Built with Claude Code (Anthropic) as a development accelerator for code generation, debugging, and algorithmic implementation.

Dedicated in loving memory of my Dad and teacher, Shmuel Zbaida z"l.
